Don’t forget our Black History Month Community Celebration is happening tonight from 5:30–7:00 PM at the BES Café.
Join us for an evening filled with cultural foods, desserts, drinks, family activities, door prizes, and free books for families. This is a community-wide celebration, and everyone is welcome.
We are honored to welcome special guests and speakers from BISD leadership, community partners, and local organizations, as well as a special reader for the evening.

BISD LIFT Literacy Night — Black History Month Celebration
Join us for a special evening as we celebrate Black History Month at our LIFT Literacy Night. This community-wide event will feature cultural foods, desserts, drinks, literacy activities, door prizes, and books for families.
We are honored to welcome a distinguished group of speakers, including BISD Superintendent Mr. Cormier, Executive Director of Administration/Middle School Principal Mr. Love, High School Principal Dr. Jones, BISD staff members Mr. Pemberton and Mr. & Mrs. Charleston representing Bloomington VFW Post 6074, and Placedo Elementary teacher Mrs. Bell. We are also proud to feature BISD school board member Mrs. White as our special reader for the evening.
