Bloomington Secondary briefly went into a hold today to allow a drug dog to move around freely on campus. This measure was taken to ensure the safety and security of all students.
This afternoon, Placedo Elementary was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution due to a police emergency in the immediate area outside our school. At no time were students or staff in danger.
We want to thank our students, staff, and families for their patience and understanding as we prioritized safety. Everyone remained calm, and all safety procedures were followed.
We appreciate the continued support of our community.
As a precaution, PES has been placed on lockdown. Students that ride bus 20, 21, 7, and 6 have already left campus. All others are safely indoors. We will release students as soon as the lockdown is lifted. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Good luck to Yeshaiah Hersh as he travels to the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event this weekend in San Marcos. He has the opportunity to win a scholarship and earn a Gold Seal award for his artwork. Thank you to Mrs. Carter and the pom squad for the good luck posters and charms!

Calling all Class of 2026 guardians, parents, and students: we need help setting up our decor this Saturday morning (4-26) before prom! We will be at UHV from 9:30-3 pm and need volunteers to come help during that time ! You can sign up to come anytime in that window to help and we would be SO APPRECIATIVE!
