Our district libraries are participating in the America 250 challenge! Learn our nation's history while reading and using your library. Track your reading until you reach the 2,500 minute mark! Time spent reading, visiting the library OR a Texas State park all count towards your total! Pick up a tracker at your school's front office OR in your library to start tracking your time! Prizes are awarded to those students who complete this challenge before the deadline Dec. 31, 2026! Get reading Bobcats!

Let’s Celebrate Earth Day with LIFT

Join PES and BES for our Earth Day event, Planting Seeds of Knowledge and Kindness, on April 20th at 5:30 PM at Placedo Elementary.

Families can participate in a variety of hands-on activities, including planting seeds, painting birdhouses and rocks, making edible dirt cups, and identifying fruits and vegetables. This event is designed to promote literacy, learning, and community engagement in a fun and meaningful way.

Each child will receive a free book, and families can enjoy Earth Day goodie bags, literacy activities, and door prizes.

We look forward to seeing you for an evening of learning, creativity, and community.

BES Student of the Week: Raven Danas

Spring Literacy & Egg Hunt – Tonight

Join us tonight for the PES & BES Spring Literacy and Egg Hunt at Placedo Elementary beginning at 5:00 PM.

Families can enjoy literacy activities, an egg hunt organized by age group, and refreshments including nachos, drinks, and sno-cones. Each child will receive a free book, and there will be door prizes, Easter goodie bags, and face painting available.

No basket? No problem. Baskets will be provided for all participants.

We look forward to seeing you for an evening of family fun, literacy, and community engagement.

Mini cheer camp is coming.... Sign your interested pre k through 6th grade student up to come participate in our mini cheer camp hosted by our 25-2026 BHS Varsity cheerleaders! We will learn cheer fundamentals, play games, and end with a show off of what we learned Friday evening! All participants will get a chance to perform with our BHS cheerleaders at a football game in the fall! Sign up on this Google form or at either Elementary school front offices!
